Vision

​Empowering Pacific youth to actively participate in biodiversity decision making processes and conservation efforts, ensuring resilient and sustainable futures for our Pacific people and ecosystems.

 

Mission

To foster inclusive, dynamic, and relevant opportunities for Pacific youths to engage in biodiversity decision making processes and conservation efforts through capacity building, networking, leadership development, advocacy, and community engagement.

By joining, you will have the following opportunities:

 

Capacity Building

Internships and volunteer opportunities with PIRT member organisations. Mentorship and training sessions aimed at building conservation knowledge and skills for Pacific Islands youth. Seminars and networking sessions with experts across the PIRT working groups.

 

Youth Representation

Involving youth in decision-making processes within PIRT, regional and global events. (Pacific Islands Conference on Nature Conservation and Protected Areas, Convention on Biological Diversity Conference of the Parties). Creating youth working group to provide input on conservation strategies and actions.

 

Collaborative Networks

Connecting youth with conservation professionals and peers through regional and international networks. Facilitating youth participation in global and regional conservation events and conferences.

 

Youth Ambassadors Program

Training young leaders to represent PIRT and advocate for conservation within their communities and beyond.​​​​​​
